Why Buckeye nurses enjoy living in Columbus, Ohio [Music playing] [Text on screen: Mike Riggs Registered nurse] Mike Riggs: When I think about Columbus, I think about a big city with a small city feel. I know it sounds... People say a lot of things like that, but I truly love the people here in this city. It makes you feel like you're home. You feel like it's a place that you want your children to grow up and be part of. And I would think of no other better place to live than here in Columbus. [Text on screen: Kaye Lovey Registered nurse] Kaye Lovey: It's a great opportunity to experience and witness the diversity of our culture. That's been always my fear, it's like moving from a different country, that it would make me feel different, but actually when I moved here, I felt really home. [Text on screen: Halle Gordon Registered nurse] Halle Gordon: There are coffee shops around every corner, a friendly face, and the food's been really great, too. [Text on screen: Victor Barbee Registered nurse] Victor Barbee: This is such a growing and diverse city. I feel like I meet new types of people all the time, and they just contribute to me and help me grow as a person. And with that growth, there's so much food and culture I get to experience. I feel like I'm tasting something new every couple of weeks. [Text on screen: Maria Simons Nurse Manager] Maria Simons: I grew up in the Los Angeles area, and I lived in Tucson, Arizona and Central Oregon as well. We're very excited to be in Columbus, because we're back in a well-populated area that has some great diversity. [Text on screen: Arinze Ezewu Registered nurse] Arinze Ezewu: Columbus is new to me. Coming from Seattle, Washington, it was a really big change, moving to Columbus. But I like exploring, I like meeting new people, and I love adventures, and having the opportunity to live in Columbus gives me the opportunity to do so. So, I love exploring. Halle Gordon: Some of my favorite things to do while I'm in Columbus are go to the gym, go to workout classes. There are opportunities everywhere. [Text on screen: Tammy Skeese Registered nurse] Tammy Skeese: They have great festivals. They have the ComFest, and Pride, and Jazz & Rib Fest. There's plenty to do here in Columbus. There's Franklin Park Conservatory, the zoo. Maria Simons: So, I have two children, and our favorite thing to do in Columbus is visit the Metro Parks and be able to escape into a little bit of nature and just enjoy what those parks have to offer. One of our other favorite things to do in Columbus is visit the COSI museum. Our kids are really interested in science, and so it's great to have access to a place that provides that learning for them. Victor Barbee: My favorite thing to do in Columbus is to go down to the Scioto Mile park, and just walk up and down along the river and get to just see how the nature changes throughout the year around there. It's really picturesque. Halle Gordon: Going to Ohio State University football games, going to amazing restaurants, and meeting some really great people in Columbus. Mike Riggs: I am a sports fanatic, so other than loving the Ohio State University Buckeyes, which I go to as much as I can, there's a lot of other sports. I grew up loving soccer, so there's a Major League Soccer sports team here, which I enjoy a lot. New venue, it's fantastic. Plus the baseball and hockey all within walking distance. It's just a wonderful, wonderful town to enjoy professional-level sports. Maria Simons: Columbus is such a great place to live, because there's so much to do here, whether you have kids or you're just looking for a new place for cultural diversity. There's so many great experiences here. We're just really glad that we moved here. Mike Riggs: What I like most about living in Columbus is the opportunity for my children, who have grown up here and really enjoy the school systems. I like living in a place that people are more of a community than just a city, where you really feel like you live here, this is part of your home, and you belong. So, I love living in Columbus for that reason.
